In the fight against and management of coronavirus, the goal is to be able to quickly notify people who have potentially been exposed to the virus. Proximity tracing apps help local health authorities in this task. To do this, data must be shared between users, local authorities, and companies while maintaining privacy. This paper explains how proximity tracing apps work in a general technical way and outlines which privacy law particularities arise from this.
